1st Class News- Pen pals, Art, and a Teddy Bear Picnic

March 2, 2026
First Class began a Pen Pal project this term. This project involved pairing all the children in the class with another First Class pupil from a local school. All the children were very excited to find out their pen pal’s name and begin writing. Everyone worked so hard on improving their handwriting and spelling to create a wonderful set of letters for us to post off. The children particularly enjoyed decorating their pen pal’s envelopes and coming up with some great questions to ask. The class was thrilled when they received letters back from their pen pals and were again excited to answer their questions and post another letter.
For Valentine’s day, First Class created some beautiful love heart ornaments out of clay to take home to give to someone they love.
First class also had a teddy bear picnic before the midterm break. They all brought in their favourite teddy from home, and we spent time talking about our teddies and why they are special to us. All the teddies also joined in on some fun games in the hall with the children.
